β€˜The Jungle Book' Trailer Debuts: Watch the First Live-Action Footage From the Disney Remake

It's a jungle out there, all right.

The first full-length trailer for Walt Disney Pictures' "The Jungle Book" debuted on "Access Hollywood Live" Monday. The movie stars Neel Sethi as Mowgli and features the voice talents of Emjay Anthony as Grey Brother, Idris Elba as Shere Khan, Giancarlo Esposito as Akela, Ralph Ineson as Father Wolf, Scarlett Johansson as Kaa, Ben Kingsley as Bagheera, Bill Murray as Baloo, Lupita Nyong'o as Raksha and Christopher Walken as King Louie.

Director Jon Favreau stopped by the show and discussed what went into making the movie. "There's so much technical stuff we're doing. Every time someone would come to the set, I'd show them behind the curtain," he said. "It's just a unique way to make a movie. When you're excited about what you do, you like to share it. For so many people who are curious about movies, you always have a good audience so you don't feel like you're losing them."

A snippet of the trailer was shown Sunday, and the full trailer hit the Web Tuesday.

The first teaser was unveiled during the D23 convention in August. Production began "two years" ago, Favreau explained. "All of this was shot in downtown Los Angeles. The only live-action character person is Neel Sethi, playing Mowgli. The humans are the only things that are real. The environments, the animals–all of that is generated by artists," he said, adding that the film is "all a work in progress."

"It's remarkable if you have good artists and a good vision," Favreau added.

Favreau hopes the film receives a PG rating.

Working with Murray was on the filmmaker's "bucket list," he admitted. "Basically you put a little note in a hollow log in the forest and you hope that he shows up and does your movie...Bill Murray was one of my heroes growing up, from the early days of his films--'Meatballs,' 'Ghostbusters,' 'SNL,'" Favreau said. Working with him on "The Jungle Book" was everything he hoped it would be. "Because it's his face and you're using his face for reference for performance, he can improvise," the director said of the comedic actor. "I'd bring the little kid, Neel Sethi, who was 10 at the time. I'd have the two of them together improvising and singing together. Just wonderful."

VIDEO: Ben Kingsley explains how "The Jungle Book" was made

"You want to make an action movie for people who don't know the old movie and just maybe know the more the Rudyard Kipling story. I mean, it gets pretty intense at times," he said of the film, which hits theaters Apr. 15, 2015. "I grew up with 'The Jungle Book.' I was born in '66. That movie came out in '67. I remember the images. I remember the river, like at the end of this trailer. I wanted to incorporate all of that. So, this first look sort of shows the more intense aspect of this movie."
