Child Poet Returns to Steve Harvey

Five-year-old Peh’Tehn Raighn-Kem returned to the Steve Harvey to perform another poem

Five-year-old Peh’Tehn Raighn-Kem returned to "The Steve Harvey Show" to perform another poem. The last time she appeared on the show, the then-four-year-old Peh’Tehn wowed the crowd with her performance of the poem, "Hey Black Child" by Countee Cullen.

This time she returned to recite a poem written by her parents, titled "Affirmations." The poem, which Peh’Tehn recited from memory, was accompanied with hand gestures and movements that went with the affirmations as she spoke.

"I am love, I am future, I am bright," Peh’Tehn said as she jumped in the air. The five-year-old grinned from ear to ear as the audience stood to applaud her at the end of her empowering spoken word.
