Colin Farrell, John Legend Talk the 2016 Elections on ‘Ellen'

Farrell also speaks to his smoking addiction

Thursday on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," Colin Farrell explains his 7-year-old son Henry’s take on the 2016 presidential election.

"He wasn’t a huge fan of Trump initially, I think a little bit because of his hair maybe, but I think more importantly because of the potential for mistreatment of Mexicans," Farrell says. "Literally that’s nearly verbatim from Henry. And now he can’t stand Trump because I’ve had to explain to him why Trump keeps on being mean to kittens. He just keeps grabbing those kittens."

Farrell also speaks to his smoking addiction, and how he plans to try hypnotizing videos in the next few months that may help him quit. He says he made sure to gulp down a few Altoids before the interview so he could go for a steamy smooch with Ellen.

Farrell's not the only one stopping by the Ellen set. John Legend also crashes the show to talk about registering student voters in Ohio last Sunday, and how his wife Chrissy Teigen recently joined him in Nevada to campaign for Hillary.
