‘Buffy' To Slay Again On The Big Screen?

"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" could be coming back to the big screen – but don't expect to see Angel, Willow, Xander or Spike in the blood sucking big screen reboot.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a big screen remake is in the works with original movie director Fran Rubel Kuzui – who directed 1992's "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" with Kristy Swanson – and her husband, Kaz Kuzui.

The new movie will not have any connection to Joss Whedon's 1997 WB series, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, and would not include popular supporting characters like Angel, Willow, Xander or Spike.

The reboot is not being labeled a sequel or prequel, but rather a restart to the story line, similar to J.J. Abrams' reboot of "Star Trek."

The producers said they have not ruled out Whedon's involvement in the new "Buffy" project, but have yet to reach out to him.
