William Balfour Officially Charged With Murders Of Hudson Family Members

William Balfour has officially been charged with three counts of first-degree murder, Access Hollywood has confirmed.

The Cook County State Attorney’s Office confirmed Balfour, who was arrested for the murders of Jennifer Hudson’s relatives, was charged with the murder counts and one count of home invasion on Tuesday.

Police in Chicago arrested Balfour on Monday for the murders of Jennifer’s mother, Darnell Donerson, her brother, Jason Hudson and her nephew, Julian King.

Balfour, 27, has been in police custody since October 24, the same day the bodies of Donerson and Jason Hudson were discovered in the family home.

The body of King was discovered two days later.

Balfour was being held on a parole violation at the Statesville Correctional center, but was handed off to the custody of Chicago police after they secured an arrest warrant, according to the Chicago Tribune, which first reported the story. Balfour was arrested on Monday.

Balfour, King’s stepfather, and the ex of Jennifer’s sister Julia, was previously described as a person of interest in the investigation.
