Swine Flu Delays Mexican Release Of ‘Star Trek'

"Star Trek" won't be going where swine flu has gone before – at least not yet.

The film's release in Mexico has been delayed due to the epidemic, a Paramount studio rep confirmed to Access Hollywood on Wednesday.

"[A] specific date has not been determined and we are continuing to monitor the situation," the rep said in a statement.

The sci-fi film opens worldwide on May 8.

The virus outbreak has affected other films as well – the Mexican release of "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" has also been pushed back and its premiere in the nation was canceled on Tuesday.

Additionally, according to Variety, "Angels and Demons," which opens worldwide on May 15, may also be delayed in Mexico.
