NYC Expecting New Year's Eve Frenzy With Jonas Brothers & Clintons

New York City will ring in 2009 with three teen superstar siblings, two Clintons and possibly up to one million screaming revelers – along with some extra security.

The New York Police Department is expecting a possible “mob scene” Wednesday night when the Jonas Brothers take the stage to perform in Times Square at “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest.”

According to a People source, police expressed their security concerns at a recent meeting with producers of the annual show.

“So they’re now planning on using extra [security] men for support,” the source said. “It’s going to be crazy because everyone will be in Times Square to watch them perform on the show.”

If the fashion savvy Disney teen brothers weren’t enough of a security concern, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and former President Bill Clinton will help Mayor Michael Bloomberg lower the famous New Year’s Eve ball, the Associated Press reported.

Minutes before the Clintons and Mayor Bloomberg help drop the ball, 1,000 balloons with the words “Joy,” “Hope” and “2009” will fall from rooftops down to the crowd in Times Square. At the stroke of midnight, a ton of confetti will fill the sky.

Jonas Brothers and Clinton fans will have to endure a chilly night. The weather forecast for New Year’s Eve is currently a frosty 17 degrees, with the possibility of rain or snow.
