Stars Plan to Shine Brightly on New Year's

If you thought celebrities would be content to sit at home in their footie pajamas with a pint of Ben and Jerry’s for New Year’s Eve, think again. From Snooki to Jay-Z to Rihanna to Diddy, stars have some of the grandest plans for ringing in the new year.

Though Snooki and her poof are not descending upon Times Square in her elaborate ball-drop stunt, the “Jersey Shore” starlet plans to carry out the festivities in her stomping grounds of Seaside Heights, N.J., coming back into the city to host an after party at wax museum Madame Tussauds.

Many celebs are flocking to (where else?) Sin City, arguably the capital of excessive celebration and borderline regrettable decisions. Jay-Z and Coldplay are putting on a collective concert to celebrate the opening of a new, nearly $4 billion Las Vegas Hotel, The Cosmopolitan, People reported. Rihanna, meanwhile, is hosting a party at the luxe Pure Nightclub.Diddy is hosting at Luxor’s LAX. Rapper Nelly will perform his latest hit, “Just a Dream,” at Haze Nightclub.

In New York, Ryan Seacrest hosts for “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” in Times Square, where Ke$ha and Taio Cruz will perform. And, though not celebrities in the traditional sense, one lucky couple, Bethany and Geoffrey, who met in Iraq where they were serving as Marine reservists, won the chance to get married in front of a million people in Times Square. Their wedding will be streamed live here.

On the West Coast, Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas will host the Los Angeles parts of “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve,” according to ABC, and Kimberly Cole will perform live at The Colony for their Royale New Year’s Eve Party.

In blizzard-free Miami, Drake will perform at the W Hotel in South Beach. A lot of fashionable celebs also are ringing in the New Year in southern Florida, with “Gossip Girl” hunk Chase Crawford and “The Hills” starlet Lauren Conrad slated to watch Jamie Foxx perform at LIV Nightclub.

So raise a glass to your favorite celebrities, and ring in the New Year with swank and style!
