Reese Witherspoon: I Feel “Much Sexier” Now

Reese Witherspoon says she's never felt sexier.

In an interview for the January issue of Glamour, the 34-year-old Oscar-winner and mother of two revealed she struggled through her 20s to come to terms with her sexuality.

“I was always, as a younger actress, very conscious of not wanting to act sexy,” she said. “I didn’t see myself like that. But I think as a woman, you get older, you feel more confident in your sexuality. You’re not as intimidated by it, not as embarrassed by it.”

The “Walk the Line” star, who appears on Glamour’s cover dressed in a sleek red Burberry Prorsum dress and also posed for a sizzling photospread in the mag, said she feels “calmer” now that she’s comfortable in her own skin.

“And as a result, I feel much sexier,” she said.

In the interview, Witherspoon also reflected on her past relationships with Jake Gyllenhaal and ex-hubby Ryan Phillippe – the father of her daughter, Ava, 11, and son, Deacon, 7.

“You have to own whatever part of it you’re responsible for,” she said of the failed relationships. “It takes a lot of soul-searching. It’s important to go through that, because hopefully you won’t repeat yourself.”

When asked if dating her current squeeze, Hollywood agent Jim Toth, was easier than being with another celebrity, Witherspoon told Glamour she did not want to badmouth her exes.

“But what I’m finding out is that it’s very comfortable to be with somebody who understands my career, but doesn’t do what I do,” she said.

Witherspoon also told Glamour that despite broadening her career ambitions through dramas and philanthropic work she’s still a sucker for a good romantic comedy.

“I love all my fellow female romantic queens, like Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Garner and Katie Heigl,” she said.
