More “Sex” Coming Next Summer

The "Sex and the City" sequel has an official release date

Carrie and her sex-crazed pals will soon be back on the prowl.

The "Sex and the City" film sequel will officially be released May 28, 2010, box office tracking firm Exhibitor Relations said Wednesday.

The glitzy film will be marketed as a big-budget summer blockbuster, set to premiere in the middle of peak movie season. It'll be positioned against Jake Gyllenhaal's action vehicle "The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time," which premieres the same day, E! Online reported.

The first "Sex and the City" flick, which adapted the beloved HBO series of the same name, grossed $415 million worldwide when it premiered last summer.

All four of the sitcom's original stars  - Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon - have signed on for the second "Sex and the City" film.

The script and all other casting decisions are still in production.
