Lindsay Lohan Makes Good on Second Chance With Coroner's Office

A day after being turned away because she was late, Lindsay Lohan turns up on time for community service sans cupcakes

Lindsay Lohan got a second chance Friday with the LA County Coroner's office.

The movie starlet arrived just before 6 a.m. PT for court-ordered service at the morgue. The coroner's office turned Lohan away Thursday because she was late, but welcomed her back Friday.

"She's been ordered that she will be on time for her service," said Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter . "And, if she has any other problems then she'll be removed from the program."

Apparently, she got the message. In fact, Winter said Lohan arrived "real early" Friday.

E! News reported the "Mean Girls" star attempted to make nice by ordering cupcakes, but both Winter and Lohan's rep said the sweets were refused upon delivery.

"I had a discussion with Lindsay and she advised that she did not know the person who ordered the cupcakes," Winter told E! "We discussed the issue of these types of incidents and that we would not allow such activity. I think that she got the message."

Lohan's rep told E! the actress had indeed ordered the cupcakes and there were also conflicting stories on whether she treated volunteers to In-N-Out too.

Lohan's service at the coroner's office was scheduled one day after Judge Stephanie Sautner revoked probation for the actress stemming from a DUI and a jewelry theft case. The judge ordered Lohan to complete 16 hours of community service at the morgue before a follow-up hearing on Nov. 2

She arrived in a black SUV and wore a black hooded sweatshirt when she entered through an entrance behind the building.

"You have to understand, we're a constant, 24-hour operation and we do have family members of the deceased who are here," Winter said as helicopters whirred overhead. "We're trying to limit any exposure to any of the public."

Lohan blamed Thursday's tardiness on "confusion" about the location.

Around 10 a.m. Thursday, Lohan tweeted, "With all of the stress and pressure from yesterday and today, I've never been so happy to go to therapy!!!! Also, I'm sorry for the confusion that I may of caused to those at the Coroner's office. Won't happen again, now I know where to go! Thank you for your help."

Probation Report: Oct. 19, 2011

Lohan's expected duties at the morgue will include custodial work such as mopping, vacuuming and cleaning.

"She will not be having anything to do with touching the bodies of the deceased," Winter clarified.

Employees have been told to "remain professional," Winter said. That means no pictures of the movie star.
