After all the tabloid news surrounding their relationship from two years ago, LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian finally tied the knot yesterday, People reported. Their engagement was announced in December.
A spokesman for Rimes told the magazine: "LeAnn and Eddie were happily married today surrounded by their closest family and friends. They thank everyone for their well wishes.”
The wedding, which was held at a private home in California, was a surprise even for the approximately 40 guests, who thought they were attending the couple’s engagement party. Among them were Cibrian’s two young sons from his former marriage.
Rimes and Cibrian's relationship became the subject of speculation when the two starred in the Lifetime movie "Northern Lights" in 2009, while married to other people: Rimes to Dean Sheremet, and Cibrian to Brandi Glanville. Those couples' divorces were finalized last year. At the time, both Rimes and Cibrian denied they were romantically involved with each other.
Rimes told People about her relationship with Cibrian last November: "We make mistakes and we learn from them, but we're human. We fell in love. We're really happy in what we feel privately."
