Sean Penn is headed for anger management classes after pleading no contest to a vandalism charge in connection with his attack on a paparazzi last October.
Frank Mateljan, spokesman for the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office, said the temperamental Oscar winner agreed to undergo 36 hours of anger management classes, serve 36 months of probation and perform 300 hours of community service.
"I can confirm a plea deal was reached with Mr. Penn," Mateljan said.
Penn was originally charged with battery and misdemeanor vandalism in the case, but copped to the lesser charge. His run-in with Jordan Dawes was captured on video, with the actor cursing the photographer and kicking him.
"The next time I see you, you will be in a box!" Penn allegedly said to Dawes after the attack.
Under terms of the plea deal, Penn must not go within 100 yards of Dawes. He also may have to pay for the victim's hospital bills and broken equipment.
If Penn successfully completes his probation, the vandalism conviction will be downgraded to a disturbing the peace conviction.

Penn still faces a civil suit from Dawes, who claims he was seriously injured in the incident.
