Joe Simpson Blasts Tabloids, Says Tony Romo ‘Is The Best'

After a report in the National Enquirer surfaced claiming that Jessica Simpson's father, Joe Simpson, wanted his daughter to dump Dallas Cowboysquarterback Tony Romo, the pop star's dad slammed the tabloid's report in a recent Twitter post.

The tabloid recently claimed a source said Joe "feels that Tony has become too much of a distraction…. Rather than blaming his daughter's work ethic, Joe points the finger at Tony."

Not true according to Joe, who fired back on the micro-blogging Web site.

"So tired of people saying I don't like jess and tony… He is the best," Joe wrote. "Don't believe the national enquirer!!!"

Jessica and Tony have been dating for over a year. They first met in 2006 after Joe introduced them.

According to Us Weekly, during a March 15 concert in Irvine, Calif., Jessica continued her trend of dedicating songs to Tony while on tour with Rascal Flatts. She told the crowd her ballad, "You're My Sunday," was for the "person I'm in love with right now."
