Glam Slam: Oscar Style!

Last night, I died and went to haute couture heaven! The Oscars were a true fashionista's fairytale with glamour, glamour, glamour ruling the carpet.

"Oh my gosh." That was a humble Kate Winslet accepted her first award of the night - one of our Swarovski Crystal Best Dressed compacts. A fashion tour de force all awards season, Kate continued to kill it in a black and gray asymmetrical Yves Saint Laurent by Stefano Pilati.

"I'm so glad because I've seen you early on so I feel more confident." Graciously gorgeous Anne Hathaway, also honored by our Best Dressed compact. And boy did she deserve it! She was stunning in a sparkling champagne Armani Prive gown. And the finishing touch? Nearly $750,000 worth of Cartier jewels. Wow!

Anne was just one of the lovely ladies embracing light colors. Jennifer Aniston dazzled in an intricately beaded white and silver Valentino Haute Couture gown with Bulgari jewels. Penelope Cruz was a vision in white vintage Pierre Balmain with $3 million worth of Chopard diamonds (including a 69 carat diamond necklace). Sarah Jessica Parker would have made Carrie Bradshaw proud in one of my favorite ensembles of the evening - a very, very pale mint green Dior Haute Couture gown with a full skirt.

And to me, Oscar newcomer Taraji P. Henson was pure perfection in a creme colored Roberto Cavalli concoction. And Taraji's showstopper? An unbelievable statement Fred Leighton necklace which I couldn't take my eyes off! The Best Supporting Actress nominee is one to watch!

Taraji wasn't the only one rocking bold jewelry, a big trend on the carpet. Angelina complimented her black Elie Saab strapless gown with 115 carat emerald green earrings by Lorraine Schwartz and a 65 carat Colombian emerald ring. And Klum's jewels!! Ravishing in RM by Roland Mouret, Heidi was armed and dangerous with $900,000 worth of Lorraine Schwartz jewels. Her eight layered bracelets and exquisite earrings were to die for.

But can we please talk about Amy Adams' 630 carats Fred Leighton bib necklace? Consisting of emeralds, rubies, sapphires and diamonds I actually loved the accessory on its own - but it was blatantly mismatched with her crimson red Carolina Herrera gown.

Unfortunately, Amy had company in the style "miss" department. Beyonce's gold and black brocade gown from her own House of Dereon label was too over the top (not to mention that she has worked the form fitted mermaid silhouette over and over again… break out Beyonce!). And the usually flawless Reese Witherspoon's risky black and blue Rodarte had one too many styles going on!

But I can't do a red carpet recap without mentioning our very own Glam Slam style maven Ryan Patterson. Providing the fashion forecast straight from the carpet along with Maria Menounos, in charcoal gray Randi Rahm, Ryan rocked it in a silvery gray one shouldered Tadashi Shoji. And doing us Glam Slam-ers proud, she dripped with designers: jewels by Platt, a clutch by Mary Norton and shoes by Rene Caovilla. Oh and did I mention this was just three weeks after having baby Harlow?? Talk about a hot mama!
