Glam Slam: Golden Globes Style

Brad and Angie, Leo and Kate, Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, Tom Cruise… and the Jonas Brothers! The energy was INTENSE on the red carpet when these stars arrived. I mean they ARRIVED! …and the fans were going crazy! OK, I’ll admit, even though I’ve done many an award show, even I got giddy at seeing some of these stars. Colin Farrell is one good looking dude… I’m just saying…

OK - Time to get to the fashion.

WHITE HOT!
Eva Mendes is my pick for BEST DRESSED. She looked even more gorgeous in person than she does in pictures or on TV. Loved how she accessorized her strapless white silk taffeta Dior with a turquoise statement necklace from Van Cleef and Arpel, which was unique and really popped. Kate Beckinsale also looked fabulous in her white J. Mendel gown and Salma Hayek showed off her girls in her elegant white Bottega Veneta. Miley Cyrus was very age appropriate in a cream Marchesa gown with gold floral appliqué detailing.

Beyonce wowed in her fitted strapless ivory Elie Saab Haute Couture gown accented with silver sequins and was excited to receive our Access Hollywood Best Dressed Swarovski crystal compact.

“Fierce! Very fierce darling, ha ha, thank you so much I appreciate it.”

METALLIC MANIA
Jennifer Lopez looked like she had liquid gold poured on her, with her draped Marchesa molding to her body in all the right places. The how-low-can-you-go plunging gold gown was vintage sexpot J.Lo and was so low cut, it brought to mind THAT Versace green gown she wore to the 2000 Grammys.

Angelina was more demure in a shimmery silver Atelier Versace chiffon embroidered dress, but of course… she had the best accessory of anyone there, Brad Pitt looking fine in his Tom Ford tux. Deelish!

COLOR ME BEAUTIFUL
“I don’t over think anything. I don’t really,” Eva Longoria Parker told us. She sizzled in her va va voom red Reem Acra. I like that Cameron Diaz went for a color that no one else had with her pink taffeta Chanel Haute Couture gown. Hayden Panettiere worked eggplant Gianfranco Ferre, Rumer Willis plum silk organza Reem Acra, and Christina Applegate wore yellow Roberto Cavalli.

FEELING BLUE
“Am I sweating?” Debra Messing asked me, as she waited on our platform to go on camera. She wasn’t, but told me the red carpet was hot!

Debra wore navy taffeta Vera Wang with a beautiful flounced skirt. Anne Hathaway went with a royal blue silk Giorgio Armani Privé gown embroidered with Swarovski crystals, while “Gossip Girl” Blake Lively rocked her blue strapless Nina Ricci.

MISSED THE MARK
The two stars who didn’t work for me were Drew Barrymore and Renee Zellweger, whom I usually think looks beautiful. Her Carolina Herrera black sheer organza blouse/bustier/skirt combo was very unflattering in my book and I thought her messy updo really aged her.

I was not feeling Drew’s ice blue Dior Couture dress, which was made especially for her. Her over-teased bouffant was not good either. People were literally emailing me on the red carpet asking me to give that girl a comb! Ouch!
