Gisele Will Be First Billionaire Model: Forbes

Gisele Bundchen may be fast on her way to becoming the first billionaire supermodel.

The ubiquitous fashion icon not only stars in campaigns for brands from Versace to H&M, she also heads apparel and beauty lines whose finances, says Forbes, she's very savvy at managing.

Bundchen developed the hugely successful Ipanema line of sandals, launched a lingerie company with a major Brazilian retailer and runs her own cosmetics company.

According to Forbes' analysis, her earnings from all those ventures—plus her modeling income and her real estate holdings—could soon land her in the company of billionaires.

But New York Magazine calls the speculation "silly," insisting that Forbes can only know so much about her earnings and assets. As the New York article pointed out, she's faulted the business magazine before for speculating on her finances.

"I would like to know who this reporter is finding out all of these amounts. And I would like him to talk to my accountant and figure out where is the cash that’s missing. Because I haven't seen it," she said to GQ in 2008, referring to a Forbes report that she made $35 million in 2007.

Whatever Bundchen's exact earnings, they're very, very high—as are those of her equally famous husband, NFL quarterback Tom Brady. He placed five spots above her on this year's Forbes Celebrity 100 list, Popeater noted.
