Former Publicist: ‘I Never Saw Michael Jackson Use Prescription Drugs Or Abuse Prescription Drugs – Never'

Despite numerous reports that Michael Jackson was allegedly abusing prescription drugs, the singer's former publicist, Raymone Bain, told Access Hollywood she never saw the King of Pop abuse drugs.

"I am completely devastated and I want to send my love out to Mr. and Mrs. Jackson, the Jackson family and to Michael's children. I can't imagine the grief that they are going through right now. I cannot believe this," Bain told Access'Billy Bush. "I wish I were dreaming and that I could wake up, but I want to send my love and my heartfelt sympathy to them."

Bain stressed that she never witnessed the pop star use prescription drugs.

"I can say unequivocally, that over the years that I have been with Michael Jackson I never saw him abuse prescription drugs," she continued. "I never saw him in a state that he was high or not up on what he was discussing with me. He was always alert. I can say unequivocally that I never saw Michael Jackson use prescription drugs or abuse prescription drugs – never."

Bain went on to shoot down People's report that Jackson's family attempted to stage an intervention in 2006.

"[Jackson's family members] signed a letter stating that they didn't know where those rumors originated, [and] it was not true," Bain said of the reported 2006 intervention in Las Vegas.

And when it came to the singer's role as a father, Bain said he was an amazing father to Prince Michael Jackson II (sometimes known as Blanket), 7, Paris, 11, and Prince Michael, 12.

"He was a wonderful father, he put his children before anything else," she said. "He always geared his schedule around the children."

Bain said that Jackson taught his children to appreciate their fortunate lives.

"He would always say, 'Despite of who I am and what I have achieved, I don't want them to take that for granted and to let that go to their heads. I want them to be just like normal children.' And I tell you, he has done a remarkable job," she told Billy. "And Michael Jackson's legacy is not going to be just his music. You will see his imprint on how well his children turn out to be and the success they achieve."
