Donald Trump: Don't Fire Miss California

Miss California Carrie Prejean has left a trail of controversy behind her since the night of the Miss USA pageant on April 19 — but Donald Trump, the man in charge of the pageant, told Access Hollywood on Thursday she should hold onto her title.

"No, I think she should do whatever she wants," Donald said, when asked if the beauty queen should be stripped of her crown.

On Thursday, Carrie announced that she was joining up with the National Organization for Marriage for a national ad campaign in support of traditional marriage.

"A lot of people agree with her, a lot of people don't," he said, commenting on Carrie's statements at the pageant against same-sex marriage. "Certainly she's been true to herself, that's how she feels."

However, if Carrie was asked to step down, her replacement would be ready.

Her Miss California runner-up, Miss Malibu Tami Farrell, said in an interview with Access Hollywood's Billy Bush that she could step in if need be.

"I am ready, but I would never want to step on somebody else's coattails and step into someone else's spotlight," Tami told Billy on Thursday.

But if she'd gotten Miss California's tricky question, she said, she would've answered differently.

"It was a controversial question," Tami admitted. "Personally, I just think that, who am I to judge somebody? It's between you and God."

And if she were to become Miss California, she said she wouldn't opt for the breast implants that Carrie had paid for by the organization before the Miss USA pageant.

"I think I'll stay natural," she said. "Keep the body God gave me. It's a personal decision – plastic surgery, I think is a confidence issue. I see Carrie and I think that she's a beautiful girl, I don't think that she needed to do anything, but… that's for her to decide."
