David Hasselhoff Tells Mitch Winehouse He Relates To ‘Rehab' Singer Amy

David Hasselhoff admitted he can relate to some of the troubles Amy Winehouse has gone through in recent years.

During a trip around London in Mitch Winehouse's cab for "Mitch Winehouse's Showbiz Rant," a new show on Liv, the online offshoot of British channel Living TV, the former "Baywatch" star seemed to open up about his own battles with addiction to the "Rehab" singer's dad.

"The problem that I've experienced in my own life and you know, some of the stuff that's been documented about Amy is really… a universal problem and it has nothing to do with the music business. It's just life man," David told Mitch. "It's just, it's an illness and what people don't realize is nobody wakes up in the morning and says, 'Let me have this problem.'"

In the three-minute clip of the new show made available online, David also tried to comfort Mitch, whose daughter has had relationship and drug troubles, which have been well documented by the media.

"It's tough being a girl in the world these days," David said, later adding, "No matter how old Amy is, she's still your little girl."

In the clip, David also spoke about his desire to work with Amy's longtime producer, Mark Ronson.

"I'm a major fan of Mark Ronson as well and I'd love to actually some day continue my music with him," David said.
