Authorities did not conduct a raid on the office of Dr. Conrad Murray, a special agent for the DEA told Access Hollywood on Wednesday.
"The Los Angeles Police Department came out to Houston to conduct a search warrant and asked for help from the DEA and the Houston Police Department," the agent said of the search currently being conducted at the Armstrong Medical Clinic in Houston."This is not a raid."

Murray served as Michael Jackson's personal physician in the weeks before his death.
However, a rep from Dr. Murray's lawyer told Access on Wednesday the search was "shocking."

"This is really shocking," a spokesperson for Murray attorney Edward Chernoff, said in a statement to Access. "this was unexpected to us. We are looking into it right now and hope to have a statement on our website soon. We are shocked because we have been cooperating all along so this comes as a surprise to us."

Dr. Murray has previously been interviewed twice by the LAPD and considered a witness, not a suspect. The doctor was with Michael at the time of his death on June 25.
In a statement to Access earlier on Wednesday morning, Chernoff said that authorities wanted a third interview with Murray and railed against the media firestorm surrounding the doctor.

"The coroner wants to clear up the cause of death, we share that goal," Chernoff said in the statement. "We don't have access to the most important information in this case… the toxicology report. We're still in the dark like everybody else. Based on Dr. Murray's minute-by-minute and item-by-item description of Michael Jackson's last days, he should not be a target of criminal charges. Dr. Murray was the last doctor standing when Michael Jackson died and it seems all the fury is directed toward him. Dr. Murray is frustrated by negative and often-erroneous media reports, he has to walk around 24-7 with a bodyguard. He can't operate his practice. He can't go to work because he is harassed no matter where he goes."
