Unfortunately, most children lose critical components of their reading proficiency over the summer months. Many children do not have books in their homes and rely on public book dispensaries. NBC 7 has partnered with the San Diego public libraries to insure children have access to books throughout the summer season.
The NBC 7 Summer Book Drive runs throughout the month of June . Anyone can donate books at more than 26 locations across San Diego City public libraries.
The SD Public libraries need books for children from infants to teens. Click here for a list of participating locations.
