Jim Laslavic to Emcee Coronado Walk to End Alzheimer's – April 30th

NBC San Diego’s Sports Director, Jim Laslavic, will emcee the Alzheimer’s Association’s first ever Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Coronado.  On Saturday, April 30th at Silver Strand State Beach, the walk will raise awareness and funds for the Alzheimer’s Association’s principal mission: to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research, the promotion of brain health, and providing services and support to the 5.4 million suffering from the disease.

In San Diego, Alzheimer’s is the third leading cause of death, affecting over 53,000 people.  Taking place at over 600 locations across the nation, the Walk of End Alzheimer’s is one of the largest national efforts in support of those touched by the disease, raising over $348 million for the cause since 1989.  Registration begins at 3pm, followed by the walk at 4pm.
