Bridget Naso, Weekend Anchor/Military Reporter

Bridget Naso is an eight-time Emmy-nominated anchor and reporter, who has covered some of the biggest stories in San Diego over of the last decade plus from both the anchor desk and the field, including the 2003 and 2007 San Diego Wildfires.

You can catch her anchoring the station’s weekend evening news at 6 and 11 p.m. with Omari Fleming. Her focus at NBC 7 is to report on the important military stories that impact our community. One highlight was her reporting on the first landing at sea of the Navy’s F-35C Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter on an aircraft carrier.

She grew up in a military family as her father, a Captain in the Marine Corps, served four years active duty and six years in the Reserves. He was stationed at Camp Pendleton before serving in Vietnam.

Bridget started her broadcast journalism career at KERO in Bakersfield, California. She then worked as a freelance journalist in Washington D.C. at WTTG before arriving in San Diego in 2000.

She has been named one of San Diego’s 50 People to Watch by San Diego Magazine and received a local Health Hero Award from San Diego’s Combined Health Agencies. Bridget attended California State University in Fresno. Bridget and her husband live in San Diego with their son. She enjoys hiking, yoga and travel, especially visiting National Parks.
