Yosemite's Foodiest Celebration Sets the Table

Taste of Yosemite returns in November to tempt taste buds; cooking demos and a five-course dinner are part of the elegant event.

DIGGING IN... to a delicious plate of something savory in Yosemite National Park? Your mind might first go to campfire-close vittles, the kind of cuisine that can bubble in a pan as you sit outside your tent. And while such supping has its pluses, for sure, that isn't the only kind of eating done in gorgeous stretch of Sierra-fied wilderness. There are fine dining opportunities, too, and, in the autumn, Taste of Yosemite pops up, with chef cameos and multi-course dinners, at The Majestic Hotel. That happily relaxed haute happening is back, in November, with four foodie sessions that involve learning, via chef demonstrations, hobnobbing, with other fans of memorably cookery, and one hard-to-forget dining experience, complete with excellent wine. But what...

SESSION MIGHT YOU CHOOSE? The first of the four begins on Nov. 4, 2018, and wraps on the 7th, giving you ample time to gourmand your days away with Kent Rathbun of Imoto in Dallas, Maria Hines of Tilth in Seattle, and Josey Baker of San Francisco's Josey Baker Bread all appearing. There are several more chefly sightings to come, at the remaining three sessions to following, including several food-perfecting pros from around the Golden State. Bedding down after all of the learning and noshing and socializing? There are Session & Lodging Packages, so find a sleep spot close to where all of the pans'll be simmering and toques'll be popping up.

NOVEMBER... is not so far in the future, nor is one of the Big Y's most beautiful and info-packed plate-oriented spectaculars.
