So Many Casinos, So Little Time

From Riverside to Campo, Southern California is home to almost two dozen Indian casinos. Half of them are in San Diego County but there are a few beyond that offer a weekend of gambling without an airline ticket or a long desert drive.

Pechanga Casino in Temecula, with its Jacuzzi Suites, offers special rates on golf and spa packages. There’s also the Temecula Valley Vineyard Tour for Two package beginning at $289 Sunday through Thursday.

In Cabazon, along I-10 on the way to Palm Springs, the Morongo Casino breaks up the landscape with its 310-room hotel. Along with packages for golf, the casino offers state-of-the-art bowling lanes, Canyon Lanes at Morongo (aka The Best-Kept Secret in the Desert).

Augustine Casino, located three miles east of PGA West, in Coachella, touts one of the best buffets in the Valley. Choose from the Steak & Eggs Breakfast Buffet ($7.50) to the nightly buffet at CafΓ© 45 ($11.75).

The San Manuel Casino is celebrating 25 years of fun with events like the World Record Attempt for the Largest Air Guitar Ensemble. Get your riffs ready and make the two hour drive to San Bernardino on Sept. 22.

Stay in the heart of Palm Springs at the Spa Resort Casino. Walking distance from galleries, stores and restaurants, you can book a room for less than $100 through September 29 with their Palm Springs Perfection package.

The Soboba Casino in San Jacinto, Calif. invites you to its Inter-Tribal Powwow Sept. 16-18. See bird singing, drumming and dancing  While you're there (and while you're not gambling) take in a round at The Country Club at Soboba Springs.
