Easter Eggs and Big Trains

TAILS 'N TRACKS: We're not sure if the Easter Bunny normally has to hop a train to get to all of the places he needs to get to -- the whole hippity-hoppity-ing thing probably gets him to his destination in good time. But come Easter, several Southern California trains and stations welcome the furry celebrity, and plan a bevy of activities around his visit. Here are three.

FILLMORE & WESTERN: Elephants may be the animal much associated with this Fillmore-based train these days -- it is featured in the new film "Water for Elephants" -- but Mr. Rabbit will be calling at the train on Sunday, April 24. There are lunch options for kids and adults, too.

IRVINE PARK RAILROAD: The Orange park is not only going the bunny route through Saturday, April 23, but there will be egg hunts and cookie directing as well. Note that the Railroad is not scheduling any of its bunnyrific activities for Easter Day itself, although the park will be open.

EASTER BUNNY EXPRESS: The South Coast Railroad Museum's mini train is running on Saturday, April 23. There will indeed be a bunny sighting and surprises at this historic Goleta spot, but we think we're most charmed by the egg-shaped tickets. Nicely done, South Coast.
