GAZE UP, far up, into the almost-winter night sky, the glittery dome that spreads so vastly, and majestically, over the California desert, and you're bound to see a few beautiful sights. SUNDAY, DEC. 1: That's when the famous attraction lights its bright, conical symbol, which stands tall outside of the tram's mid-century Peaks Restaurant. But you don't nearly need to admire it from down below in Palm Springs or another resort city. You can catch a tram up, even at night, to see it up close, and snap a few sparkly snapshots. The cost? It's just your tram admission; no extra fee is required to admire the tree, which is comprised of oodles of LED bulbs (there are real trees just steps away, in case you'd like to see those, too). Special events will pop up throughout December, including music performances and visits from Santa.
