When a well-known golf tournament rolls into town, there are plenty of people to see and plenty of places to be seen. Starting Jan. 24, the excitement surrounding the 2011 Farmers Insurance Opens begins at Torrey Pines in La Jolla.
Spotting Celebs: It's like shooting fish in a barrel if you know where to be. Monday, there are practice rounds for PGA Players on the South Course starting at 10:30 a.m. Did we mention admission and parking are free?
Early Wake-up Call: If you can avoid hitting the snooze button, you can be there to see pros like Phil Mickelson, Ben Crane and Tiger Woods tee off on the first day of tournament play. This time, you'll have to pay but kids 15 and under are free when accompanied by an adult.
Pull Out the Plaids: Thursday, Jan. 27, get thyself to the party celebrating the origins of the sport with the Golf Bash-Party in Plaid. Starting at 7 p.m. enjoy an “Early Birdie Social Hour” then the “Tail Chasers Band." At the Belly Up in Solana Beach. Tickets are $15 at the door.
