I've had my share of nights on a canoe to freeload shows at Humphreys Concerts by the Bay, but I wonder about the status of the Embarcadero Marina Park South. I haven't been to an event there in so long that I wouldn't really know where one could hear a show without paying for it, but tonight's Lyle Lovett show might warrant some exploration. The veteran songwriter is one of the most likable storytellers in music and tonight's bayside show, with fireworks along the bay and Coronado, is going to be something special. Around town, the English Beat play the first of two nights at the Belly Up, Canadian indie-rockers Beekeeper play Soda Bar, and Casbah has a free night of yacht-rock favorites with High Tide Society.
