Sounds Like San Diego: June 19

Local Natives headline a long-sold-out Observatory North Park Wednesday

I have been a fan of Local Natives since the beginning. In fact, that feels so long ago, I can't even remember where I first saw them live. I've seen them all over San Diego. I've seen them in LA. I've seen them play tiny shows and I've seen them play massive shows, and then after massive shows go back and play exclusive tiny shows once again. When our local pal Nik Ewing joined the band several years ago (read the SoundDiego interview with him here), it was just icing on the cake for a group of guys who couldn't be nicer, and the talent among them in instrumentation and songwriting alike make it no surprise that tonight's Observatory show has long been sold out. With Middle Kids opening the show, if you're holding a ticket, you want to get there earlier to see them, too. We've actually got hot shows sold out all over town tonight, but if you're looking for some last-minute plans, check out the awesome and spunky (and SoundDiego LIVE alum) James Supercave at the Casbah, Simple Plan play the Grandstand Stage at the San Diego County Fair, and Pennsylvania act Slingshot Dakota headline Soda Bar.
