Sounds Like San Diego: Nov, 5

I am a massive fan of satellite radio. It seems like it's just impossible for local radio to compete because a certain contingent of a radio station's base just wants to hear what is already familiar, making it challenging for those stations to introduce any new music when it's actually still new. With hundreds of satellite channels, however, every niche is filled, and so the alternative rock station Alt Nation is adding new music on a weekly basis. Tonight, you can catch the Alt Nation Advanced Placement Tour, which teams up a veteran band like Big Data with up-and-comers like Castlecomer -- who played the Casbah earlier this summer -- and Fitness. Catch these rising bands in small venues while you have a chance. Around town, locals Little Heroine headline the Casbah, MC Chris brings nerdcore rap to Soda Bar and French producer and artist Petit Biscuit returns to the Observatory.
