J.S. Ondara headlines a sold-out Casbah show on Wednesday.

We know, we know: It really sucks when you hear about an artist, fall instantly in love, discover the artist is playing in your city, only to find out the show has already sold out -- but we tried to warn you. I listen to a ton of music and I'm the kind of person who wears my emotions on my sleeve, and an album hasn't hit me like J.S. Ondara's "Tales of America" since Tracy Chapman's "New Beginning," which was, like, 1995. Every track is complex, beautiful, and those vocals sound like nothing most of us have heard in a very long time. All I can say is, I would imagine as soon as this tour is over, we'll all be fighting for Ondara tickets at the Belly Up, Observatory North Park, or even SDSU's Open Air Theatre. Meanwhile, Turnover and Turnstile (two separate and very different acts) co-headline the Observatory before they head to Coachella, Zonies Dead Soft play "grunge punk for the people" at Soda Bar, and Matisyahu performs his first of two sold-out nights at the Belly Up. If you're feeling a little bit country and wanna hear jams about your whiskey, beer, and trucks, catch Texan Casey Donahew at Moonshine Beach.
