Sounds Like San Diego: Sept. 1

The Strawberry Moons get in on the early show action over Labor Day Weekend

Working in the music biz, I hear all kinds of suggestions and complaints about what venues should or shouldn't do, how they operate and who they should book. One of the most frequent complaints is about how late shows run, that people have a hard time making it to a show on a week night if they know the headliner won't be on until 11 p.m. So, for all of those people who have said they would support more local music if the shows were more conveniently timed, today, you can catch a matinee show at the Casbah featuring the theatrics of Geezer, the hilarity of Shades McCool and the wit of Pony Death Ride. Still, Monday is a national holiday for many people, so checking out the second night of Stray Cats at Humphreys or Massive Attack at Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre should still give you time for a couple of post-show beverages without worrying too much about lost sleep. The Belly Up welcomes the return of Roger Clyne, Western Settings headline a killer lineup at Tower Bar and our pals Strawberry Moons get in on the early show action at Bar Pink with Dani Bell. It is going to be a good night all around to move into the extended weekend.
