Vinyl Junkies Record Shack's anniversary was a hoot on Friday, and they'll be continuing today with a grip of DJs as well as a live performance by our friends, Bit Maps. When the sun sets, you have plenty of options for great shows. At the Observatory, the beautiful voice of Chan Marshall, aka Cat Power, will fill the venue. I could be wrong, but I think it's been years since she's played San Diego, so fans should be lining up for this one. Meanwhile, singer/songwriter Doe Paoro kicks off her tour at Soda Bar, and she appears to have undergone quite a rebranding since the first time I caught her opening for Other Lives in 2015, but she's excellent and should be a treat. At the Casbah, our friends Mrs. Henry lead a great lineup, and the Colour Monday play Bar Pink before Mike Delgado takes over on the decks. In North County, Belladon play Pour House, and Circles Around the Sun headline Belly Up. Of course, honorable mention goes out to Satanic Puppeteer Orchestra, whose album release party takes place at Lestat's. If you've never seen this performance art, you're in for a treat and a 100% guarantee that you've never seen anything like it before in your life.
