I've been talking about the Casbah's 30th anniversary all month (and am going to keep going for the rest of the month -- sorry not sorry). But tonight is a super extra special night, because on top of amazing music by local faves like Creepy Creeps and Beehive & the Barracudas, the legendary venue has received special accolades: Today, Jan. 14, has been declared Casbah Day in the city of San Diego, both in a proclamation by Mayor Faulconer and a second unanimous proclamation by City Council. The event is free, with early doors at 7:30 p.m. and a short presentation by Councilman Chris Ward. It's gonna be amazing. Of course, it's not the only event in town -- you can also find a great time with Mother Mother at Soda Bar, Julia Sage's Monday residency at Bar Pink and Paul Thorn at Belly Up.
