When "American Idol" first aired on television, it was such a massive phenomenon and inspired many copycats. As music fans, however, many questioned the validity of a singing competition and whether that actually translated into any success with a music career. Of course, Carrie Underwood was able to leverage her career into so much more and has amassed more wealth than any other contestant in the history of the show and is beloved not only by country fans but pop fans, too. On Tuesday,she brings her Cry Pretty tour to Pechanga Arena, and you can bet that while there will probably be many costume changes and stage hoopla, the singer's talents will be front and center. Around town, Stephen Marley plays his second night at the Belly Up, Olivia Gatwood brings her Life of the Party tour to the Casbah, and local mods the Loons headline Soda Bar.
