Sounds Like San Diego: Sept. 8

Tonight's Black Heart Procession show is happening an hour earlier than usual

Last week, the Casbah hosted a Sunday matinee, and apparently, it sent a strong message of support, because while tonight's Casbah show isn't quite so early, the venue has taken the rare move to open doors an hour earlier than usual: at 7:30 p.m. Thus, all the bands now have earlier set times. This is especially cool because all three bands are awesome, and you should stay from beginning to end, with the powerful rock goddess power of Scary Pierre to the intensity of the Color Forty-Nine. And, of course, the Black Heart Procession headline the show to perform their first one in more than two years. Around town, Mason Jennings is back at the Belly Up with a seated show, Temecula's funk rock act Skerfunk venture south with a show at Soda Bar and Humphreys ditches the plastic chairs for a standing show with Greensky Bluegrass.
