Sounds Like San Diego: March 7

Inch closer to the weekend with Big Wild, YG, Hatebreed, Soft Kill and more Thursday

There are some pretty exciting shows in San Diego, including indie-electronic artist Big Wild, playing a sold-out show at the Observatory North Park, and the Bellrays -- who take elements of punk and rock with the vocal stylings of the soul greats -- headlining the Casbah. YG will fill Pechanga Arena with ravenous fans and Soft Kill bring Portland post-punk to Soda Bar. But as a local music fan who's excited about Monday night's San Diego Music Awards, I'd suggest heading to Bar Pink where they have a doozy of SDMA-nominated artists from across categories and genres, including the cross-dressing Spice Pistols and freestyle geniuses Parker Meridien. It's going to be a really fun night of local music and your chance to see some of our favorite nominees because they can't all play on Monday during the actual awards ceremony or we'd be there until Tuesday. If you get there before me, save me a booth, won't ya?
