An X-cellent 2014 X-Fest Lineup

91x's 2014 X-Fest is bringing some of rock and reggae's biggest names to town

Prepare to kick your summer off with a bang: 91x’s X-Fest is back on May 30 and it’s bringing an epic lineup with it.

The alternative-rock radio station announced Monday mornin that nine (count ‘em!) rock and reggae juggernauts are set to perform at Sleep Train Amphitheatre to kick the San Diego summer music-festival season into high gear. The 2014 X-Fest will feature 311, Panic! At the Disco, Iration, Phantogram, Bleachers, Kongos, Skaters, Cherub and Sir Sly.

That lineup alone would pack quite the punch, but 91x has even more rock goodness up its sleeve for fans: Three bands on the bill still remain unannounced -- and one of them is a co-headlining act. Who else could they have in their pocket? We’ll all find out on Monday, April 21, when the station releases the complete lineup.

Chockful of premiere indie rock bands like Phantogram, Sir Sly and Bleachers, the musical extravaganza also promises some righteous grooves for the reggae rock fans out there with 311 and Iration.

"The 91x team is really excited for X-Fest 2014, especially because so many of the bands are fresh, up-and-coming talent," said 91x program director Christy Taylor. "But, of course, 91x will never forget our past, and this concert is the perfect mix of what makes 91x and X-Fest staples of San Diego."

According to 91x, listeners who have signed up at the station's website will get the first crack at online pre-sale tickets starting Monday, including a limited number of tickets in section 300 for $9.91. The 91x internet pre-sale continues until 11:59 p.m. Thursday night -- and then you’ll have to compete with the masses to get tickets when they go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 4.
