'Tis the season! There’s a chill in the air, and lots of you are running around trying to get your holiday shopping done. Maybe your family and friends are already in from out of town and you just need a break, or you just want to show them what a great scene we have here in San Diego. Either way, make time for some fun this weekend.

 

Thursday night, check out EDM with Gareth Emery at Fluxx, plus opening sets from Cowboy Mike along with Zana & Star. Get more event info here. At Voyeur, it’s Modestep (DJ set) and Betatraxx. Get in free before 10:30 p.m. with your RSVP. And if that wasn’t enough, JediSugar and El Camino will be celebrating the two-year anniversary of El Camino Little Italy, featuring music from Hyena, with special guests Broken Dreams and David Afterlife. Details here.

I’ll be working and playing Saturday and Sunday at Wrex the Halls -- the 91X holiday shows that encompasses two full nights of fun at the Valley View Casino Center on Sports Arena Boulevard. Get complete details here. More fun after the show, with the Nightmare Before Xmas Official After Party at the Horton Plaza Events Center downtown. There will be four themed rooms, and one of my fave spinsters, Ayla Simone, will be doing her thing in the Glome Dome with DJ Pornscore. There’s also the Electric Candy Land with Seth Kraft and the Kiss Candy Kids; the Snow Lounge featuring Soledios, with real snow machines; and even the Sex Room with Stir Crazy and DJ Luke Skyy. Sounds like a party not to be missed! Get more details here. I also recommend Club Sabbat at the Flame for a fun night with DJs Atom, Diskdroid and Drew Harlander. Plus, it’s the launch party of StrictlySocial.com, with a monthly night called Social Club at the Onyx Room. They’ll be starting off in a big way with the Phantom’s Revenge making his first San Diego appearance, all the way from France. Rounding out the DJ lineup is Colour Vision, Tres Dubois and Dynamiq. More info via this link.
