    On Thursday night, celebrate the Boulevard Sign’s 25th Anniversary Showcase Banner Unveiling at the Lafayette Hotel, with music from the Little Richards (featuring El Vez), Miss Erika Davies & Stephen Rey, Robin Henkel, Daniel Jackson, Bart Mendoza and Gregory Page. Grab more details via this linkHip-Hop vs. Punk Rock takes over the Tower Bar; Lady Dottie & the Diamonds and Drop Dead Dames Burlesque Revue hits the Hideout; Adolescents, the Creepy Creeps, Sculpins and Widows play at the Casbah; Prayers and Darks of Heaven take over Therapy inside the Ken Club; Big Bad Buffalo’s album release Party is at the Stronghold in Barrio Logan; Nancarrow play at 98 Bottles; and Grizzly Business headline at the Merrow.

    Saturday features the Vinyl Junkies Record Swap at the Casbah from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dale Crover of the Melvins will be doing a special two-hour DJ set, plus I’ll be spinning during this event, along with some of my favorite San Diego peeps: Mitch Wilson (No Knife), Brian Karscig (Louis XIV/the Nervous Wreckords) and the host of SoundDiego, Daye Salani. Later that night, celebrate Club Ascension’s 8 Year Anniversary at the Kava Lounge. I’ll be DJing with Chad O, Michael and special guest Xian from Los Angeles Darkside. Plus, ticket giveaways for Peter Murphy July 2 at the Belly Up. For your live music fix, check out the Cult and local band Prayers at Humphrey's By the Bay; the Ilya record-release party with Champ and Arms Away at the Irenic (watch SoundDiego's Spotlight segment here); the New Kinetics, Gloomsday, Schitzophonics and the nFormals at the Casbah; or Black Lips at the Belly Up.
