Van Morrison Announces Rare San Diego Show

Sir Van Morrison headlines North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre on Tuesday, Oct. 8

Who's ready for a "Moondance"? How about some sweet "Tupelo Honey"? If you haven't guessed it yet, then I'm about to start "Blowin' Your Mind," because Van the Man, the Belfast Lion, the Belfast Cowboy -- Mr. Van Morrison himself is coming to San Diego this fall.

On Tuesday, Oct. 8, Morrison will headline North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre, which gives you more than a few "Astral Weeks" to prepare for the occasion.

The last time the Northern Irish songwriting genius -- who, by the way, was made a "sir" in 1996 -- stopped by our humble beach abode was in 2010. Mark that: nine years too long (in exile).

Best known on the radio for his single "Brown Eyed Girl," that cheap hit belies Morrison's true complexity of thought, rhythm and verse. It could very well be his worst song relative to the rest of his incredible catalog -- and that's saying somethin'.

The Van Man will be promoting his new album, "The Prophet Speaks," on this tour -- and when this prophet speaks, you listen.
