The weekend is approaching, so music is kicking into higher gear, but why not get out on Thursday so you don't have to compete with all the weekend warriors? The legendary punk band the Avengers make an appearance at the Casbah, while Jennie Vee -- a touring member with Courtney Love and Tamaryn -- takes the stage at Soda Bar. Listen Local Radio has moved the All Access Fest to Music Box, and the show is free if you can grab tickets from any of the bands appearing. Elsewhere, Joshua Taylor and 22 Kings both celebrate album releases at Sycamore Den. The Ten Tenors play their holiday extravaganza at the California Center for the Arts, while Venice do their annual holiday show at the Belly Up. There's plenty of choices no matter what style you fancy.
