On Friday, the Cult plays as part of the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club's Summer Concert Series. The show is free with track admission and you can grab more info here; Danny Elfman’s Music from the Films of Tim Burton takes over Embarcadero Marina Park South; the White Buffalo headlines at the North Park Theatre; CraveOnline is doing a party with MGMT live and a Grimes DJ set on the USS Midway and it is invite only; the Fear FestEvil After Party with Exodus, Kirk Hammett is at F6ix and it is RSVP only; Flying Lotus headlines a sold-out show at the Casbah; Goo Goo Dolls play at Harrah’s So Cal; Banyon featuring members of Jane’s Addiction (Stephen Perkins) and more takes over Winstons; and Guttermouth is at Soda Bar.
Saturday, the undead will walk the streets of the Gaslamp, as the 8th annual Zombiewalk takes over downtown San Diego. Get all the details here. Later that night, you can get your dance on with Club Sabbat at Numb3rs and the themed event “Nightwalkers vs. Daywalkers. Live music options include Vokab Kompany at Embarcadero Park North as part of the Heroes Brewfest. Slightly Stoopid, Nofx and Stephen Marley hit Sleep Train Amphitheatre; The new and improved Brick by Brick presents the Burning of Rome, SanguinDrake, Mursic and Spero; Donavon Frankenreiter plays at the Events Center, Harrah's Resort SoCal; Marky Ramone’s Wild Night with Gizzelle & Black Mambas is at Til-Two; Say Anything takes over House of Blues; Hills Like Elephants, River City and Soft Lions are at Soda Bar; Emily’s Army, Grand Tarantula and Groms play the House of Blues Voodoo Room; and the Muffs, the Loons, Aquadolls, and the Touchies are at the Casbah.
On Sunday, Intervention at the Hard Rock Hotel features Manufactured Superstars. It’s also the 10 year anniversary of Pizzeria Luigi and to celebrate, Luigipalooza will be happening all day long at the Golden Hill location with live performances from Teenage Burritos, Grand Tarantula, Shark Blood, Grammatical B and more. Later that night, the Casbah hosts Municipal Waste, To the Point, Witchhaven and Eukaryst; For the Love of Austin Speed, with all proceeds going to his recovery, is at The Kava Lounge; and the 19-piece New Orleans orchestra and cabaret act Vaud and the Villains take over the Belly Up.
