If you were at Bro-Am this year, you might have noticed that it was packed with attendees -- over 17,000, to be exact.
On Saturday, June 24, Switchfoot celebrated their 13th annual benefit concert, beach fest, surf and charity event presented by iHeart Radio and Hurley at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas. The event earned over $200,000 for local youth charities including Challenged Athletes Foundation, Rob Machado Foundation, Feeding San Diego, A Step Beyond, StandUp for Kids and VH1 Save the Music Foundation.
The day was filled with surfing contests for pros, amateurs and physically challenged athletes as well as live performances by Switchfoot, Lifehouse, the new supergroup Jamtown (featuring Donovan Frankenreiter, G Love and Cisco Adler) and 91x's battle of the band winners, Sights and Sages.
If you aren’t Bro'd out enough from the weekend festivities, the next time you’re flying out of San Diego, the Arts Program at San Diego International Airport has created a mini-exhibit dedicated to Bro-Am with Switchfoot artwork and memorabilia that includes surfboards, guitars and photographs.
