Sounds Like San Diego: Sept. 29

Adams Avenue Street Fair makes this weekend the most wonderful of the year

It's the most wonderful weekend of the year in San Diego. We have plenty of free concerts and street fairs in the county, but none quite compares to the Adams Avenue Street Fair. The multi-block, multi-stage, all ages and free event is now in its 37th year, which makes it not only a destination for locals, but also a sought-after opportunity to perform by local and national acts alike. Today, kick off your day with favorites like the Goldettes and Jake Najor & the Moment of Truth, all the way through Andrew McKeag Band, Surefire Soul Ensemble, Jackson Price and Wild Wild Wets -- plus over 40 other acts. It's always rad, though it will be hot and it will be crowded, so if you need something a little more loungy and chill to break up your day, head to Broadstone in North Park for a free show with Creepxotica at 4 p.m. If, after all of that, you still want to hit a club show, Little Hurricane return to the Casbah, Lady Dottie plays at Park & Rec (a short walk from the street fair) and Tom Brousseau harnesses the intimacy of the North Park Vaudeville & Candy Shoppe.
