Sounds Like San Diego: Sept. 24

There are a few times a year that get ridiculous when it comes to music, and right now is one of those times

There are a few times a year that get almost ridiculous when it comes to music. Of course, the weeks around SxSW and Coachella get crazy, but the last few weeks of September into the beginning of October are nuts, too. Take, for example, tonight's lineup. Let's not forget it's a Monday, but indie-rock goddess and pioneer Liz Phair plays a sold-out show at the Belly Up. Joined by the incredible Speedy Ortiz, this is definitely the show of the night. If you didn't score tickets, however, you've got great options in the way of Grizzly Bear at the Observatory or newcomer Yuno, who makes his debut at the Casbah with locals Well Well Well and Bruin. Meanwhile, Swedish punk rockers No Fun at All play Soda Bar, and Black Metal act Woe play at Space. I wish I could be everywhere at once tonight, but in lieu of that, I look forward to the onslaught of shows coming to town over the next couple of weeks.
