What to Do Besides Kaaboo

Kaaboo is here, and while hordes of people are going to enjoy the fun, some of us will just have to suck up the FOMO feeling while we find other ways to enjoy live music. Personally, I'll be sad to miss Little Hurricane's return home and Trouble in the Wind on a big stage, but I'll be enjoying the sold-out Cigarettes After Sex show at the Irenic, then perhaps I'll head to Casbah for the genre-defying Hanni El Khatib or maybe some outlaw country with Scott H Biram at Soda Bar. There are plenty of other great options, too, like Black Uhuru at Belly Up, Il Divo at Humphrey's, or The Winehouse Experience at Music Box to celebrate what would've been her 34th birthday. And for a special shout-out, The Down's Family has been a staple of the local scene since the 90s and tonight they celebrate an album release at the Ken Club.
