    NEWSLETTERS

Last week, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers were scheduled to appear at Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre. Unfortunately, Petty came down with bronchitis and sinusitis, and was forced to cancel the date. ZZ Top were set to open; however, the schedule change means a change with the opener, so Los Lobos will be appearing. With a career that spans decades, Petty hasn't slowed down and continues to release new material instead of just resting on his classics.

If you're not into the big show, locals Hotel St. George join three other San Diego greats for a local showcase at the Casbah, Liz Phair and Guy Sebastian take over the Belly Up, and the funky Fire Eaters will be at the Flame.
